Educational Facilities in Developing Countries
As of 2005,more than 100million children in developing countries do not have access to proper educational facilities. There are several reasons for this. One reason is the inadequate budgetary provision for education in these countries. According toUNESCO , developing countries spend 3.4%- 5.7%of their gross national income on education. NewsCorp, an internationalmedia and entertainment company brought in global satellite capabilities for the program.As Negroponte had decided to use Linux operating systemfor the laptop,Red Hat, the company specializing in Linux software, also joined the program.Chairman of Dell Inc, Michael Dell, had also asked his component buyers to provide Negroponte with all the parts he needed for manufacturing the laptop at the lowest possible price...
